A. M. Hodges GAR Post #254

The A. M. Hodges GAR Post in Memphis, Michigan, was organized in January 1890. Its charter for organization was granted January 17th, 1890. The post was named in honor of Augustus M. Hodges who enlisted as Corporal in Company K, 107th Illinois Infantry, serving from September 4, 1862 to May 13, 1865. Shortly after the war, Augustus Hodges moved to Memphis where he passed away on November 17, 1885. He is buried in the Memphis Cemetery.
