Researchers Note: According to the Lapeer County death records, this veteran died in Metamora Township. A search of the cemetery records in Metamora Township shows that this veteran was not buried in Metamora. He may have been buried in the Romeo Cemetery with no one being responsible for completing the year of his death on the headstone.

Researchers Note: According to the pension application of this veteran, it shows that he also served in Company B and Company I, Eleventh Michigan Cavalry. No record of this service has yet been found.

Researchers Note:  According to a special veteran census conducted in 1890, the veteran suffered from rheumatism and a double hernia. This census lists him at the Michigan Soldier's Home.

Researchers Note:  There is a conflict relative to the death date of this veteran. The official Macomb County death record indicates a death date of December 11, 1896. The headstone in this cemetery, while very worn, indicates a death date starting with the letters of MAR (representing the month of March) and the cemetery record of deaths and burials indicates a death date of March 11, 1896. Considering all of the information available, we believe the actual death date for this veteran is March 11, 1896.
