Macomb County. Enlisted in First Company Sharpshooters, attached to Michigan Sixteenth Infantry, as Corporal, October 12, 1861, at Detroit, Michigan for 3 years, age 35. Mustered October 12, 1861. Joined regiment at Hall's Hill, Virginia, February 14, 1862. Discharged for disability at Falmouth, Virginia, February 18, 1863.

(Veteran), Macomb County. Enlisted in Company B, Third Michigan Cavalry, as Sergeant, September 17, 1861, at Mt. Clemens, for 3 years, age 34. Mustered October 3, 1861. Re-enlisted as Quartermaster Sergeant, January 19, 1864, at La Grange, Tennessee. Mustered January 27, 1864. Sentenced to military prison, Florida, until expiration of term of service.
Enlistment Rank: Sergeant. Re-enlisted as Quartermaster Sergeant.
Pension: Pension Request filed by veteran 8/31/1889, Application 725645.
