St. Clair County. Enlisted in Company E, Fifth Michigan Infantry, September 11, 1861, for 3 years, age 26. Mustered September 11, 1861. Discharged June 5, 1862, on account of wounds received in action May 5, 1862. Present residence, Richmond, Michigan.

Researchers Note: According to a special veteran census conducted in 1890, this veteran suffered from a gun shot wound that destroyed the right index finger, as a result of service in the Civil War.
