Researchers Note: According to a special veteran census conducted in 1890, this veteran suffered from being wounded in the left ankle. This was reported by his widow. Also noted that this veteran died of Bright's disease March 11, 1880.

On this death record, it is also recorded that this veteran was a Captain of a vessel on the Great Lakes after the war.
