Wayne County.  Enlisted in Battery A, [First Michigan Light Artillery] May 28, 1861, at Detroit, for 3 years, age 24.  Mustered May 28, 1861.  Wounded in action and taken prisoner at Chickamauga, Georgia, September 19, 1863.  Paroled.  Discharged at expiration of term of service at Chattanooga, Tennessee, May 31, 1864.
Enlistment Rank: Private.
Pension: Pension Request filed by veteran 1/28/1889, Application 344109.
Widow (Mary) filed request 5/31/1898, Application 677195.
